The Opportunity

As a Class 1 Fluids Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of fluids while providing dependable service to our customers.

This position is well suited to an experienced fluid hauler who is comfortable working independently, takes safety seriously, and wants the opportunity to earn competitive compensation.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Safely load and unload cargo while maintaining compliance with weight limits and proper equipment utilization

  • Complete scheduled deliveries and services safely and efficiently

  • Provide professional, reliable service while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Complete daily logs, dispatch reports, trip reports, demurrage records, timesheets, and other required documentation

  • Follow all applicable company, provincial, federal, transportation, hazardous materials, and environmental regulations

  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections

  • Identify and report equipment issues or deficiencies

  • Perform routine housekeeping and help keep equipment clean and operational

  • Follow all company health, safety, environmental, and operating procedures

  • Represent Vertex professionally at customer locations and on the road

Required Qualifications

  • What We're Looking For

    Required:

    • Valid Class 1 driver's license

    • Valid FAST Card

    • Clean driver's abstract

    • Commitment to safe work practices and environmental compliance

    • Ability to work independently while managing time, productivity, and customer requirements

    • Physically capable of lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, and crouching

    • Willingness to accept after-hours calls when required

    • Ability to spend occasional nights in the truck

    Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years of tank truck / fluid hauling experience preferred

    • Experience operating:

      • Pusher axle trucks

      • Tri-axle units

      • Super B trucks

    Safety Tickets:

    The following tickets are preferred, but not limited to:

    • First Aid/CPR

    • CSTS

    • TDG

    • H2S Alive
